Women's Herstory Month

I’m baaaaaaaaaack! And in the spirit of Women’s History Month (shouldn’t we get the right to change it to Her-story Month for March) and Lent celebrations, I have decided to give up “Negative News Stories and Posts” for the next 40 days.  For the remainder of March and early part of April, I will spew nothing but niceness and positivity in the Tomato Dis-Patch.

To kick things off in the blog, let’s start with a story I saw in my news feeds from my old employer, MTV Networks.  "A Woman Did That," is a campaign co-created with the Association of National Advertisers’ (ANA) to support their #SeeHer initiative.  The video series launches this weekend on MTV in honor of Women's History Month.

Created in-house, the campaign will feature a series of one-minute films highlighting accomplished women including Rihanna, Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, fashion designer Lucy Jones, actress and activist Gina Rodriguez, author Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, and Iiventor and Student Keiana Cave. It will also include trivia segments highlighting fascinating bits of women's history and their struggles.

And in my current work world, I read that Tubefilter and Snarled are kicking off a quarterly, 2017 Women in Video Panel Series with a chat on March 29, 2017 at Busby’s in LA on “How Niche Female Programming Has Captured Big Audiences”.You can read about the full series here: http://snarled.com/womeninvideoseries/

Friends, please take a moment this month to honor some women in the arts and sports. And everyday, please take a moment to honor the women in your life!

Peace and Love,

Tomato
